Jackie and I went camping again this week-end. Weather forecast was too perfect to pass up on the opportunity. This represents our 4th week-end away in 6 weeks. We stayed in Barre with 3 other couples, and spent saturday hiking in/near the Quabbin reservoir. (see photo ... the area under water was previously one of the 4 towns dismantled, damned, and flooded to create this reservoir) The Quabbin feeds about 25 communities from western mass to boston. The foliage was spectacular. Sunday we played 9 holes of golf at the campground. Jackie gave up after about 4 holes, but the day was glorious so we enjoyed the round as we walked.
Shannon, the great communicator, wasn't written because she's moved. Same neighborhood in NY. Meghan texts with her friends at Umass Lowell, and IM's with them on face book. So I guess she's also too busy to blog. Daniel is at Army ranger school at Ft. Benning Ga. He can't have a phone for the next 8 weeks, so we can forgive him for not adding to the conversation. If you are reading this and haven't added to the blog yet, please do ... or e-mail a family member and ask them to contribute.
